Criminal Minds announces last season
Jan. 12th, 2019 02:25 pmI don't suppose this was any great surprise to the fans: next season (15) will be the last for the series. A ten-episode season which is already being filmed, to be shown sometime in the 2019-2020 season. I'm just glad they let them know so they could write us a decent ending. TPTB have already said they have no plans to kill off anyone and there is a possibility of a few guest appearances by dearly beloved former cast members. (Who doesn't want one more taste of Chocolate Thunder?)
So here's how I want it to go down.
-JJ finds herself expecting a third child and decides to ride a desk so she can spend more time with her kids. She's still fighting the good fight, only she's getting to go home every night.
-Rossi, wedding his fourth wife for the second time, realizes his time on the road led to multiple divorces. He takes a teaching job at Quantico and writes another book with:
-Dr. Spencer Reid. Can you imagine what a book Reid and Rossi could write? They've been up against some real diabolical killers- remember the deliciously creepy Jason Alexander in Masterpiece? Spencer leaves the BAU, temporarily, to spend some time with his mother before dementia completely robs her of her memories...sob.....
-Garcia moves to the new cyber crime division. If anyone can catch the on-line creeps, it's our girl Penelope.
- Tara and the two other guys go on to another team.
The return of...?
-Hotch. I don't know, Gibson did not leave under the best of circumstances so whether they offer him a cameo is iffy at best.
-Gideon. since we last saw him lying on a slab in the morgue this is definitely a long shot.
-Elle Greenaway. I for one would love to know what happened to her. She just kind of disappeared.
-the blonde who replaced JJ. Don't even remember her name so I don't really care.
-Jeanne Tripplehorn, Jennifer Love Hewitt. A mention would be nice, especially Alex, given how close she and Reid were.
Messer made a remark about doing a time jump. Maybe we look to Henry graduating from high school or college and everyone gets together to celebrate? Someone gets a big promotion and they make it into an occasion? A big no to getting together for a funeral....
